    SEE begins from today

    KATHMANDU: As many as 514,967 students — 257,053 girls and 157,914 boys — from 11,615 schools are attending the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) that begins today.

    A total of 11,454 students will be sitting in the exam for grade improvement that has been halted for the past two years and 14,564 students towards technical streamline will be appearing in the exam.

    This time, the least 43 students are from Manang appearing SEE.

    Similarly, 20 students from a school operated by a Nepali in Japan will be sitting in the exam.

    It may be noted that the National Examinations Board had recognized schools’ internal assessments of students for SEE results of two consecutive previous years (2076 and 2077 BS) due to COVID-19 crisis.

    But the SEE for the academic year 2078 BS (2021-22) is taking place with the physical presence of students.

    Board Chair Mahashram Sharma said general health protocols are to be followed in the exam halls.

    Controller of SEE Examination, Arjun Rayamajhi said that there were 2,007 exam centers for SEE across the country.

    NEB to conduct SEE from May 27

    KATHMANDU: The National Examination Board (NEB) has decided to hold the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) of the year 2077 BS from May 27.

    A meeting of the NEB held recently decided to conduct the examinations from May 27 until June 7.

    According to Durga Prasad Aryal, the member secretary of the NEB, the date of the SEE has been fixed in line with the decision of the cabinet meeting.

    A cabinet meeting held on February 9 had directed the NEB to conduct SEE in collaboration with provincial governments.

    The results of the SEE last year had been issued based on the internal evaluations of the respective schools.
