Chamber pledges support to Sudurpaschim Province Investment Conference

Dhangadhi: the far-western state has huge potential from the point of view of agriculture, energy, tourism, religion and culture.

Nepal Chamber of Commerce organized a discussion on ‘Role of private sector in promoting investment for the prosperity of far-western province’ on Sunday. Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim State, Kamal Bahadur Shah, informed that the Far-Western Investment and Development Conference is going to be held in Dhangadhi on November 15 and 25.

He called for investment in tourism infrastructure in the region and pledged to resolve legal hurdles and formulate investment-friendly policies to create an environment for investment by the private sector. He informed that the budget has been allocated to establish the office of Nepal Tourism Board there as there are many tourist destinations in the far-western region.

Chief Minister Shah expressed the belief that the conference would help in spreading the possibilities of far-western region at the national and international level. Chief Minister Shah said that the delegation of the province has arrived in Kathmandu and is holding discussions with the central government, private sector and various non-governmental bodies.

Sudurpaschim Province Planning Commission representative Nrip Sunar made a presentation on its historical importance, geographical location, tourism potential and investment environment. President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kamlesh Agrawal urged the private sector entrepreneurs across the country for the economic and social development of the conference and pledged to provide all possible support for the promotion of the conference.
