Dhangadhi: Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-5 The ward office has launched the ‘Green Ward Campaign’. The program was made public through a press conference held on Friday informing about the formal launch of the campaign.
According to
ward chair Gajendra Shahi, a target has been set to plant 15,000 saplings in a single day on August 15.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arju Rana Deuba is scheduled to do so. Minister Deuba will actively participate in the tree plantation programme, shahi said.
The ward office will distribute two saplings to each household to make the campaign effective. One of them will be a sajivan (moranga) and the other will be an advanced variety of mango plant.
Chair Shahi said the ‘Green Ward Campaign’ aims to protect the environment as well as make the ward area green. He expressed the hope that people-to-people cooperation would make the campaign sustainable.
